English Red Orpingtons

The Beautiful deep, dark mahogany coloring of the English Red Orpington is sure to be a favorite of your flock. Both the roosters and hens are a solid, dark mahogany however, roosters can sometimes have black tips in their tail feathers.  Red Orpington hens are also one of the more prolific layers among the breed, which may be due to the possible use of Sussex and Rhode Island Reds in the creation of the color. They lay a good amount of large brown eggs and sometimes can be broody. Red Orpingtons can also be bred with English Red Cuckoo Orpingtons.
